Land and Privilege Acknowlegements

The Owl Works acknowledges that it is based on land that has long served as the site of meeting and exchange among a number of Indigenous peoples, historically the Shakori (sha-core-ee) and Catawba (kuh-taa-buh) people.

The Owl Works also recognizes that intersectional identities and lived experiences afford privileges to some, and create disadvantages for others. The Owl Works strives to use its work and privilege to promote systemic change toward greater equity and justice.
